Sweet Whimsy is a contemporary pastry shop serving
a variety of French-inspired treats. Owner and Pastry
Chef extraordinaire, Josh Baudin, puts a delightful
spin on the country's tasty classics.
Known as "petite pastry", Sweet Whimsy's collection
of cakes and tarts carry a price tag of $5. Lesser-priced
items – éclairs, muffins, brioche, croissants,
and cookies – complete the bill of fare. In sharp
contrast to other high-ticketed and "stuffy" French
confectioners, Chef Baudin encourages patrons of all
ages to sample and share. Coffee and other French
inspired beverages pair nicely with Sweet Whimsy's
original, tasty treats. Special classes, birthday
parties and catering services are available.
Situated alongside a gentle stream with ducks paddling
about, the shop is intended to serve as a year-round
gathering place for Long Grove's residents and guests.
Seating is available indoors and out.
Open six days a week, Sweet Whimsy can cater to cravings
all day long. Hours are 9:30 AM to 5 PM Tuesday through
Friday; 9:30 AM to 6 PM on Saturday, and 10 AM to
